A SCHOOL will reopen tomorrow after being forced to close due to a flood.
Platt Bridge Community School confirmed that a minor flood had affected the fire alarm system meaning it was not safe for children to come to school today, Wednesday.
Bu the school confirmed that it will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, but would be unable to provide toast for its pupils and advised them to bring a healthy snack instead.
Head teacher Lavern Shelford said: “We have closed today because of a minor flood.
“We should be open again tomorrow. The flood hasn’t affected the whole school but has affected the fire alarm system so it wasn’t safe for children to come into school.”
A Wigan Council spokesman said they had been made aware of it and were sending someone to assess the damage.
