VILE thieves are on the run after stealing children’s Christmas presents.
The toys were snatched from dad Craig Yates’s truck, while he watched his eldest daughter’s school nativity play.
And as Wigan police appealed for information about the callous theft, the family branded their tormentors “scum”.
Craig and wife Laura, from Up Holland Road, Billinge, had splashed out £174 on gifts from Smyths toy shop at Robin Park last week for their children, Madison, two, and one-year-old Darcie, as well as Craig’s daughter from his first marriage, 10-year-old Taylah.
They had been keeping the as-yet-unwrapped presents in his pick-up truck so they wouldn’t be found by the children before Saturday.
But on Tuesday evening, Craig went to St James’s RC Primary School in Orrell to see Taylah in her festive play, and during the hour that he was in there, someone smashed the driver’s side window of the black Nissan Navara, and stole the bags of presents.
