A SHOPKEEPER was held captive by armed thieves during a raid in Wigan.

At around 5.45am on Wednesday, three thugs armed with a spanner entered McColls on Warrington Road, Ince, and threatened the manager.

They stole cash and cigarettes worth several thousand pounds.

The offenders loaded the loot into a red estate vehicle, that was driven by a fourth accomplice and which was on the car park.

Two of the gang were wearing dark grey clothing underneath a high visibility sleeveless jacket. Another was wearing a light grey tracksuit. All had their faces covered.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 5307, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
