A GREETINGS card and warming snack have been rolled into one by a Wigan food giant.

Heinz has launched a range of soups which also double as a get well message, that can be personalised online.

Post-festive fatigue takes its toll on the immune system, leaving many of us struggling to ward off winter bugs.

But for those feeling under the weather, the Kitt Green plant is on hand, with a food solution that aims to put a smile on your face, as well as warmth in your belly.

Available until the end of February, the limited edition labelled cans are offered via www.facebook.com/HeinzSoupUK.

The flavours available are cream of tomato, chicken and, after a pilot project vote last October, potato and leek.

Each can is priced at £1.99, which includes postage and packaging, as well as a personalised slip from the sender.

Shoppers complete the customisation form and Heinz deliver a can directly to your nearest and dearest within three working days, allowing you to express your care and concern in a couple of online clicks. Those who can’t wait that long can get a can of Heinz Classic Cream of Tomato soup at Selfridges in Manchester’s Trafford Centre.

Matthew Cullum, Heinz Soup Marketing Controller, said: “The first range of Heinz Get Well Soup cans went down a storm amongst our fans, and that’s why we ran the poll to ask the nation which flavour they’d most like to see added to the range.

“We’re delighted to be able to offer Heinz Potato and Leek, and are sure the new batch of personalised cans will be snapped up by those seeking a home comfort on a cold winter’s day.

“Be sure to pick up your personalised can as soon as you can – when they’re gone, they’re gone!”
