Cat, who lives in Bickershaw, said: “I was so happy when I came through the finish. They told me straight away and I had my picture taken. The whole way round the marathon was phenomenal. The support I got was amazing, it was really good.”

Cat felt the heat inside the costume, but she was determined to keep going.

She was raising money for Burning Nights, which supports people with complex regional pain syndrome.

Cat said: “I thought a lot about my friend who suffers from the illness. I just thought it was very humbling.”
