A YOUNG woman who was seriously injured in a collision in Wigan has now died.

Leah Davies, 19, was involved in the collision that had earlier led to fatal injuries for 18-year-old Ryan Smith.

It happened at around 11.25pm on Sunday 29 July 2012 at the junction of Fourmarts Road and Hillridge Road in Wigan.

A yellow Honda motorbike collided with a black Yamaha, which then collided with a third motorbike, a grey Yamaha that was parked at the side of the road.

The three riders were all thrown from their bikes and sustained serious injuries. They were taken to hospital for treatment.

Leah, from the Lowton area sadly died as a result of her injuries in the early hours of Sunday morning 5 August 2012.

PC Paul Hailwood from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the families of all of those involved in this collision.

“Specially trained officers are supporting families at this difficult time, whilst trying to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.

“An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding this collision, and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed it to contact us.”
