A GANG of four masked thieves stole cash from a supermarket in Wigan.

It happened at the Aldi store on Princess Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, at about 7.40pm on Wednesday.

The four men went in through the main entrance, crossed the shop floor and burst into the staffroom area.

Two members of staff were dragged to the floor and forced to handover money, before the four men fled. One staff member was kicked while lying defenceless on the ground.

No-one was seriously injured and no weapons were used, but the staff were shaken up.

Police are now appealing to anyone with information about the robbery to come forward.
