POLICE are hunting a group of yobs who stole a rare BMX bike during a violent robbery in a Wigan park.

Two teenage boys were set upon as they walked through Mesnes Park in Wigan town centre on Saturday night.

The two friends were in the park between 8:30pm and 9pm when they were attacked by a group of five or six men in their late teens to early 20s.

The first victim, a 14-year-old boy, was knocked to the floor and attacked.

Whilst his 16-year-old pal was also punched to the floor.

The offenders rifled his pockets and stole his black mp3 player.

As he tried to get up, he was pushed back to the ground and his BMX bike was prised from his grasp.

The bike is an Army Fit model and is said to be very unique.

All of the offenders were white and aged between 16 and 20.
