MOTORBIKE riders aren’t usually known for getting in touch with their feminine side.
But a group of Wiganers will be putting that myth to bed next month when they take part in a charity fund-raiser.
The group, called Swan2wheels, will swap their usual dark attire for bright pink to do the special ride.
They will be raising money for MacMillan cancer charity and support the Breast Way round in Scotland.
Nicola Howarth from the group said: “The boys love to wear bras over there leather” We will be having a best dressed man and best dressed lady on the day.
“The name of the event will be SwansWayRound and it is in support of the ladies that do the BreastWay Round in Scotland.”
The ride is called ‘RIDEOUT’ and will start at the group’s base of the Swan pub in Atherton Road, Hindley Green.
They’ll started at 8am on Sunday, May 20 and ride out to Tickle Trout Service Station where they will meet all the members to start the main RIDEOUT at 9am.
Nicola added: “From there we will ride as a group along the A 59 through Gisburn, Long Preston, on to Settle (around 33 miles), aiming to be in Settle market square for 10.30am.
“We will then collect there until 2 pm. Some of the boys love to wear hot pants, leathers skirts and high heels!
“At 2pm we will ride out to Devil’s Bridge, Kirby Lonsdale – another popular bikers meet around 20 miles away.
“We will all collect again for a few hours. We then all ride back to the Swan in Hindley Green to count the collection pots.”
