Motorway shut after car hits central reservation
Part of the M6 motorway had to be closed when a car crashed into the central reservation.
The Vauxhall Astra hit the barrier at around 2am today on the south-bound carriageway between junctions 27 at Standish and 26 at Orrell.
The male driver was not injured.
Firefighters from Wigan attended to make the car safe and the motorway was closed until the car was moved.
