Police were called to the takeaway at 03.50am on Sunday January 17 after reports of a “verbal altercation” between a 53-year-old man and three other men.

The victim walked out of the shop followed by the three men who then assaulted him. The man was knocked unconscious and was taken to hospital for treatment to a broken jaw.

Police Constable Stephen Lilley said: “This man has suffered serious injuries and is still recovering from his injuries. We have released CCTV images of three men we would like to speak to so we can establish the full circumstances and would ask if anyone recognises them, or was there at the time, that they call police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
