Twelve arrests in relation to major drug smuggling racket

A DOZEN Wigan people have been charged with drug offences by police probing a major cocaine smuggling racket.

All 12, most of whom are from the Worsley Mesnes area, have been bailed pending an appearance before a Liverpool Crown Court judge on February 24.

Paul Law, 35, of Burns Close, Worsley Mesnes, has been charged with conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug, two counts of conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (other), and two counts of conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine).

Warren McDonald, 47, of no fixed address, is accused of conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug, two counts of conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (other), and two counts of conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine).

Caroline McDonald, 51, of Manley Street Ince, is charged with conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug.

William McDowall, 46, of Kingsley Avenue, Worsley Mesnes, faces charges of conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug, conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (other), conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine) and conspiracy to produce a class B drug (cannabis).

Antony Stephenson, 31, of no fixed address, is accused with conspiring to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug.

Damon Burke, 29, of Burns Close, Worsley Mesnes, has been charged with conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (other) and conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine).

Claire Parkinson , 30, of Burns Close, Worsley Mesnes, is accused of conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine) and for conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (Other).

Daniel Harrison, 25, of Spilsby Square, Hawkley Hall, is charged with conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug, two counts of conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (other), two counts of conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine) and conspiracy to produce a class B drug (cannabis).

Stephanie Myers, 25, of Fisher Close, Worsley Mesnes, is charged with conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug, conspiracy to produce a controlled drug of Class A (other) and conspiracy to supply a class A controlled drug (cocaine).

Sarah Riches, 25, of Grenfell Close, Worsley Mesnes, faces a charge of conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug.

Mark Conway, 39, of Keats Avenue, Worsley Mesnes, has been charged for conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug.

And Karen Taylor, 48, of Snowden Avenue, Worsley Mesnes, is accused of conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class A drug.
