A MUM is warning people to be vigilant after she suspects a woman tried to lure her daughter away from her while they were out shopping.

Vicky Johnson was in the clothing section of Tesco Extra in Leigh with eight-year-old Ruby when she says the woman approached her daughter and asked her opinion on a pair of girl’s trousers.

When the woman realised I knew she disappeared into the clothing aisles. As we walked towards the security guy a man appeared with her and they were constantly walking around with no trolley, no shopping and behaving very shady

In a Facebook post that has been shared more than one thousand times, Vicky says it is lucky that Ruby is quite switched on and instead of talking to the stranger went and told her mum.

Vicky said: “When the woman realised I knew she disappeared into the clothing aisles. As we walked towards the security guy a man appeared with her and they were constantly walking around with no trolley, no shopping and behaving very shady.

“I reported the incident and Leigh Tesco seemed very aware of them. They immediately went to investigate.

“The security guard took over from there and I left the store as I wanted to get my kids away,”

Vicky says the woman looked young, about 18, with dark skin, black hair scrapped up in a bun and was wearing a black leather jacket.

The man was older, around 35, had dark skin, was also wearing dark clothes and had short, slightly greying hair.

Vicky did not report the incident, which happened at around 4.30pm, to the police. A spokesman for the store said they were aware of the incident but could not comment further.
