When Santa Claus came to Wigan
SANTA Claus is coming to town - or so the popular Christmas song goes - but, in fact, he’s already been!
The Reindeer Parade filled Wigan town centre with festive joy earlier this month, with a marching band and seasonal characters wandering through the lined streets.
In Mesnes Park, the shelter by the lake was transformed into a magical grotto where the original story of Santa’s Little Helper unfolded, performed by youngsters from the Footlights group.
The drama group also put on a stage production of the classic Scrooge tale in Market Place.
At the Pavilion, families enjoyed a host of fun-filled activities, with Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s park services, including story-telling and face-painting.
