Rugby sevens silver medallist Dan Bibby is not the only person who has been flying the flag for Wigan at the Olympic Games.

Rich Bolton and his friends travelled to Rio de Janeiro to watch some of the action in the sporting spectacular.

He said: “I’ve just returned home from a boys’ trip to the Olympics in Rio. It was completely amazing!

“Three of the four of us are originally from Wigan, so we took a flag with us and got loads of awesome photos, with the Wigan-emblazoned Union Jack.”

The group is pictured in the Rio Olympic Velodrome meeting runner Dame Kelly Holmes, who won gold medals in the 800m and 1,500m in the Olympics in Athens in 2004.
