Wigan RL legend Jim Parr loses kidney battle

A WIGAN rugby league star from the Cherry and White’s greatest ever era has died.

Centre Jim Parr - who has passed away at hospital on April 4 after a brave battle with kidney failure - enjoyed a long career in the professional game, also playing for Whitehaven and Rochdale Hornets, finishing his career in Leigh in the late 1960s.

His funeral, which is expected to be graced by many Wigan club officials and players past and present, will be held at Charnock Richard Crematorium on April 18 (1pm).
