BILLINGE born golfer David Lynn produced a career best performance to finish second in the USPGA Championship and book a place at the US Masters.
The 38-year-old carded a four-under round of 68 on Sunday at the Kiawah Island course in South Carolina to finish behind Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.
His second placed finish ensures that Lynn will now play at next year’s Masters at the Augusta National course in Georgia.
The European Tour regular has only notched one career win, the 2004 KLM Open, but finished with a five-under score of 283 to finish eight strokes behind McIlroy, who captured his second major triumph.
Lynn said: “The Masters is just a dream come true, obviously - amazing.”
