A WOMAN arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 22-year-old man at the weekend has been bailed.
The 30-year-old, believed to be the partner of victim Camaran Foley, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Police were called to an area of land on the junction of Platt Lane and Northumberland Street on Saturday at 6.15am.
Officers attended and found that a 22-year-old man had been stabbed in the back.
He was taken to hospital where his injuries were described as “life-threatening.”
Speaking afterwards, Detective Sergeant Stephen Baldan of GMP’s Wigan Division said: “We have a team of detectives investigating this incident and we have made an arrest.
“The man is in hospital where he is in a life-threatening but stable condition and is receiving treatment.”
The woman has been bailed until February 29.
