A WOMAN was taken to hospital after fire crews discovered her unconscious in her home.
Police requested the assistance of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue’s community risk intervention team (CRIT) to gain entry into a house in Charles Street, Swinley, after a 50-year-old woman had not been seen for a few days.
The team forced entry and found the woman unconscious at 11.45am on Sunday.
Watch manager Jim Clitheroe, of Wigan Fire Service, said: “The team got a phone call by the police for a concern for welfare. They found the woman unconscious on the floor and they called am ambulance. Her condition is not known, but she was quite poorly.
“This was an excellent example of the emergency services all working together with the CRIT to make the community safe.”
