A WOMAN is fighting for her life after a suspected arson attack on a Wigan flat.
Fire crews were called to Redbrook Road, Ince, at 9pm on Sunday, following reports of a large blaze.
Two people - a man and a woman - suffered burns and the latter is currently at Wigan Infirmary, in a critical condition.
Firefighters made the area safe while residents from around half a dozen surrounding flats were evacuated.
The inferno completely gutted the flat.

Detective Chief Inspector Howard Millington said: “We are continuing to keep an open mind as we investigate the events of last night as to how they occurred although clearly it is suspicious.
“We are working closely with the fire service not only in relation to the investigation, but also in relation to the impact this incident has had on other residents.
“We would ask that any witnesses, or anyone with any information, calls police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 7149 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
