At around 9.30am this morning (Wednesday), three men approached the woman’s house, which is on Thicknesse Avenue, Beech Hill.
One man was carrying a parcel, and thinking it was a delivery, the woman, who is in her early 30s, opened the door.
She was immediately forced inside by the three men who rushed in.

They eventually left empty handed.
It is believed they may have been travelling in a blue Renault Clio, registration number SK53 JWW.
All three offenders were white. One was in his early 20s, about 5ft 8in tall and of stocky build with blonde hair and was wearing a black anorak.

Detective Constable Danny King, said: “It is not clear why this woman was targeted and it is quite possible that this was a case of mistaken identity.
“She was not seriously harmed but was tied up and threatened with extreme violence and in order to give her absolute peace of mind we need to find out who these people are.
“Were you in the area and saw what happened or do you know who the offenders are?
“Also, a blue Renault Clio, registration number SK53 JWW was seen in the area and may be connected. Did you see this car and its occupants?
