Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Fulham on a four-year deal for a fee in the region of £2million.

The 23-year-old only joined Latics on a permanent basis last summer, after spending the previous campaign on loan from Everton.

He almost signed for Italian giants AC Milan in January, only for a £6million move to fall through at the 11th hour.

However - and despite a brilliant end to the campaign - a relegation clause in his contract meant the Cottagers were able to secure his services for around a third of that valuation.

The USA international featured 65 times for Latics in all competitions, scoring his only goal for the club in a 2-2 draw at Millwall in November 2019.

“I am made up to be a Fulham player," Robinson told Fulham's official website.

"I was really excited to get down here and get everything signed. When the lads get back in here, I can’t wait to get going.

“I heard a few days ago that Scott Parker was interested in me and wanted to speak to me personally.

"We had a zoom call and he was really keen to get the deal done and for me to be a Fulham player.

“Fulham play a really nice style of football and I can see myself fitting in perfectly.

"As soon as I heard of the ambitions of the club it was an easy decision for me.”
