WIGAN Athletic have confirmed the departure of defender Andrew Taylor to Reading on a season-long loan.
Taylor, who turned 29 last week, only joined Latics from Cardiff City last summer on a three-year contract.
But his debut campaign at the DW did not go as planned, with Latics relegated to League One and Taylor spending much of his time on the bench.
His days looked numbered following the close-season signing of fellow left-back Reece James from Manchester United.
And being one of the top earners at the club, it comes as no surprise to see Taylor leaving the club for pastures new.
In total he made 27 appearances for Latics, scoring one goal against Birmingham City last August.
Taylor will be reunited at the Madejski Stadium with Ali Al Habsi, who joined the Royals earlier this summer after seeing out his Latics contract.
