LATICS goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi has emerged as a potential transfer target for title contenders Arsenal.
Al Habsi has been superb all season for Wigan this season and has gone on record saying he is extremely happy at the club.
But the Oman international is only on a season long loan from rivals Bolton and while Latics fans will be hoping he will join on a permanent deal next season, should the club get relegated, it is likely Arsenal would be one of many who will chase his signature.
The current crop of ‘keepers at the North London club have come under immense scrutiny this year with Lukasz Fabianski failing to impress and the returning Jens Lehmann embarrassing himself with a string of gaffes when the Arsenal reserves travelled to Robin Park last week.
Al Habsi also benefits from becoming a British citizen later this year, which means he will no longer need a work permit and is hugely important when counting against Premier League and European quotas.
