ROB Kiernan is poised for a return to League One Brentford – as soon as Wigan Athletic’s walking wounded return.
The 23-year-old spent time on loan at Griffin Park at the beginning of last season, ironically when Uwe Rosler was Bees boss.
Kiernan impressed during his time in the capital, and Rosler is ready to send him back to continue his development.
However, Rosler is reluctant to sanction the loan move until the injury situation improves.
Thomas Rogne, Ivan Ramos and Juan Carlos Garcia are all on the short-term injury list, with club captain Gary Caldwell yet to kick a ball this term thanks to hip, calf and Achilles problems.
“We’re waiting to hear back from Wigan, but we’re trying very hard to get it over the line,” admitted Brentford boss Mark Warburton.
Rosler was today hoping to complete a mystery loan signing – his third of the window following the arrivals of Tyias Browning and Nicky Maynard.
Meanwhile, former Latic Pascal Chimbonda has agreed a deal to remain at Carlisle United under Graham Kavanagh for the rest of the season.
