LATICS boss Roberto Martinez has challenged his players to give Wigan Athletic fans a Christmas to remember.
Once again, December has thrown up a bumper set of fixtures with six games in total.
They have managed just one point from their first two games but with a trip to Carrow Road on Saturday, the Spaniard has backed his stars to thrive this month.
It’s the first winter in England for the likes of Ivan Ramis and Arouna Kone, who are used to much warmer climes.
And Martinez said: “It’s part of the challenge when you come into a new country with new weather you have to adapt.
“Arouna Kone has been in many environments in different leagues, I don’t think it’s going to be too much of a shock for him. Ivan Ramis, as you can imagine for him living in Mallorca for many years, for him the weather is cold!
“It’s going to be something new but he takes everything in his stride and the players are just ready for whatever comes their way.”
With the temperatures plummeting below freezing, many clubs are having to move training indoors, but Martinez says ground staff have worked hard to ensure their usual routine isn’t affected.
He added: “We’re very lucky in terms of the ground staff at the training ground. The training programme hasn’t been affected at all.”
