WIGAN Athletic captain Emmerson Boyce has been shortlisted for the Championship October player of the month award.
The defender played in every single league game throughout the month, with the Latics backline only letting in two goals.
Boyce has been an integral part of the Wigan side and even got on the scoresheet himself with a last minute headed winner against Blackburn on October 6.
His nomination on the Championship official website reads: “Boyce’s energetic displays and captaincy were pivotal in Wigan conceding just two goals in four games. Always willing to cover and lead by example, he also glanced home a last-minute winner in the 2-1 derby win against Blackburn Rovers.”
The 34-year-old is up against Middlesbrough’s Albert Adomah, Burnley’s Danny Ings and Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury.
The winner will be announced tomorrow (Friday) live on Sky Sports News.
