GARY Caldwell could not hide his ‘frustration’ after Wigan Athletic were forced to rely on another late comeback to snatch a 2-2 draw at Bury.

Despite dominating for much of the game, Latics found themselves 2-0 down deep inside the final quarter.

But after home defender Chris Hussey was sent off for a second

bookable offence, Latics rallied and an own goal from Nathan Cameron on 85 minutes was followed by a last-minute strike from captain Craig Morgan.

“It’s getting frustrating now, to be honest,” admitted Caldwell.

“I told the players at the end that they can’t

play that well, and give them two goals when they’ve hardly been in our box.

“They’ve had three crosses in our box first half, and maybe two or three second half.

“And yet we find ourselves 2-0 down in a game we’ve controlled and played some good stuff.

“We can probably create a little bit more in the first half, show a bit more intent in our final-third play.

“But overall I’m delighted with the way we played – apart from the two goals - and the character of

this team is never in question.

“If we can keep going the same way, then we won’t be far away.”

Latics have been draw at home to Blackpool in the northern area

quarter-final of the JPT.

The tie will be played in the week commencing November 9.
