OWEN Coyle’s summer spending is by no means done with a number of names linked to a move to the DW Stadium.
The Latics boss has already snapped up seven new signings but is still in the process of bring in more.
One such target is Bristol City winger Albert Adomah, who has reportedly been the subject of two bids from Wigan.
The Robins are expected to hold out for a seven-figure sum on their star man but will want to cash in on the wantaway star, whose contract runs out next season.
Coyle also wants to add to his depleted defence as well as exploiting the loan market.
“We’ll continue to add to the squad where we can, we’ve been thwarted in one or two areas as well,” he said.
“We’re still waiting on some of the loan deals that I have asked for but you have to bide your time with these.
“You’ve got to understand that with the quality of players we’re targeting, they are among the best loan players that will become available.
“The problem with that is that the elite clubs who they play for will be using them throughout pre-season because they are very close to playing at Premier League level.
“We’ll continue to monitor that situation, though, as well as pursuing several other permanent signings.”
Meanwhile, Latics’ game at Blackpool on October 19 has been moved to a 12.15pm kick-off to be televised live.
