FA CUP winners Wigan Athletic will parade the trophy through the town after the final two games of the Premier League season, it is believed.

The Latics still have two crucial Premier League games to play, at Arsenal on Tuesday night and Aston Villa on the final day of the season (Sunday) at the DW Stadium.

Chris Dunbar, head of PR for Wigan Council said: “This weekend has been an historic weekend for the club and the town and we are very proud of everyone associated with Wigan Athletic for what has been a remarkable achievement.

“We are in daily contact with the club and will be guided by them as to how they would like to celebrate their FA Cup success, but quite rightly they are now completely focused on their final two games of the season.”
