CRAIG Davies is hoping to keep Wigan Athletic on the winning trail this weekend – and give a former boss a bloody nose in the process.
Latics’ opponents in tomorrow’s lunchtime shoot-out are Rochdale, whose manager Keith Hill was Davies’ gaffer for a very productive time at Barnsley. And the ex-Wales international is looking forward to the reunion at Spotland.
“I don’t see why we can’t go to Rochdale and come away with a good result, even though they’re a very decent side,” he said.
“I know their manager on a personal level having played under him, and I know they’ll come flying out of the blocks and get at us.
“Hopefully we can do what we’ve been doing for the last few weeks – apart from the Bury game – and keep the league form going in the process.
“The main aim is obviously the league, and we’re still in a very good position.
“As a squad in general I still think there’s even more to come.”
Meanwhile young forward Ryan Jennings has joined non-league Cheltenham on a one-month loan deal.
