Nathan Ellington and John Filan are the latest two names to be added to the Latics Legends roster for next month’s Joseph’s Goal charity clash at Ashton Town FC.
The pair both played key roles in helping Latics reach the Premier League for the first time back in 2005 - striker Ellington for his goals and goalkeeper Filan for his clean sheets - and have signed up for the second annual spectacular.
Another Latics legend, Arjan de Zeeuw, is flying over from Holland along with a team of Dutch Masters for what is sure to be an unforgettable night of football and nostalgia on Friday, May 13.
Already confirmed for the Wigan side are Roberto Martinez, Graeme Jones, Paul Scharner, Emile Heskey, Chris Kirkland, Kevin Sharp and Stuart Barlow, with more big names to be announced over the coming days.
The Dutch Masters will include ex-Latics stars Danny Landzaat and Jorg Smeets, as well as the likes of Sander Westerveld, Jan Kromkamp (both Liverpool), Michael Mols (Rangers), Glenn Helder (Arsenal) and Andre Ooijer (Blackburn).
Meanwhile, Scharner and De Zeeuw will be back together at the DW Stadium for one night only in a unique Q&A the previous night.
The two icons of Latics folklore are the guests of honour at ‘An Audience With...’ on Thursday May 12, where they will lift the lid on their careers in the game as well as their eventful time at Wigan.
It’s an intimate chance to meet two of Latics’ all-time greatest players – and biggest characters – and ask the questions YOU have always wanted answering.
Tickets for the ‘Audience With...’ are just £6, and are available from the DW Stadium ticket office, by calling 0871 6633552, or by visiting www.wiganathletic.com/tickets
Admission for the legends game is just £10 for adults and £5 for Under-16s, with Under-6s getting in free, and available from the same outlets.
