WIGAN Athletic have been drawn to face a Russian, Slovenian and Belgium Club in the group stages of the Europa League.

Latics fans will travel to Russia, Slovenia and Belgium in their first ever Europa League campaign.

The draw was made this afternoon with Wigan in pot two. They could have played the likes of PSV Eindhoven, Lazio or Lyon from the first pot but they were given one of biggest journeys possible.

The first name out the hat was Russian outfit Rubin Kazan, who finished sixth in their Premier division.

Latics were next to be picked before Slovenian champions NK Maribor before Belgian Pro League runners up Zulte Waregem.

Fixture dates to be confirmed this afternoon.
