FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic will begin their defence of the trophy at home to MK Dons.

The draw was made this afternoon live on ITV and the game will take place at the DW Stadium on the weekend of January 4/5.

Latics’ last match in the FA Cup was the unforgettable final on May 11 this year when they won 1-0 against Manchester City, a club where new boss Uwe Rosler earned legendary status as a player.

Ben Watson’s stoppage time header sealed off a cup run of dreams and produced one of the greatest upsets of all time.

They started that campaign against Bournemouth in the third round before beating Macclesfield, Huddersfield, Everton and Millwall along the way.
