OWEN Coyle admits Marc-Antoine Fortune has given him a massive headache ahead of Sunday’s visit of Middlesbrough.
Fortune delivered a sparkling second-half cameo off the bench to help Latics recover from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Doncaster.
The 32-year-old dovetailed well with Grant Holt with Coyle switching to a two-pronged strikeforce.
And the Wigan boss acknowledges he has plenty to ponder ahead of the visit of the Teessiders.
“Marco was perhaps a little bit unfortunate because he had a tremendous pre-season, but Holty just got the nod for the start of the season,” recognised Coyle.
“But we know all about Marco’s ability, that’s why we brought him to the club and I thought he was outstanding in the second half against Doncaster.
“It augers well when you’ve got players waiting to come in who can do the job and contribute when you need to change things.
“Equally, Marco has put himself in line for a start against Middlesbrough, and it’s certainly a nice problem for me as a coach to have.”
