OWEN Coyle admitted Marc-Antoine Fortune’s corker at Morecambe last night was ‘a goal fit to win any game’.
Fortune appeared off the bench in the second half to score the only goal at the Globe Arena, taking delivery of Jean Beausejour’s pass before lashing the ball past a shell-shocked Barry Roche from the edge of the penalty area.
“He doesn’t score tap-ins, does he?” gushed Coyle, whose side have now won five out of five under his stewardship, with Fortune notching four goals.
“People say you should save it for the season, but it’s good to see he has it in his locker and long may that continue.”
Coyle also reported no fresh injury worries ahead of Saturday’s final pre-season hit-out against Dundee United, before the Championship season kicks off next weekend.
