Joyce: Performance will get the points

Warren Joyce is refusing to look at the Championship table ahead of another huge day in his side’s survival fight.

Latics could climb out of the bottom three with a win at the DW Stadium this afternoon if other results go their way, but that is of no concern to the manager.

“The closing of gaps is irrelevant at the minute,” he said.

“You just have to try and win every game and you only look at that at the end of the season.

“You just have to keep your focus on the same thing and keep believing that by trying to play well and trying to stop the opposition is the way you create chances, win games and get points.”

Latics lost last time out away to QPR in midweek, but have secured four points from their last three games,.

“Performances get points, nothing else,” added Joyce.
