CHIEF executive Jonathan Jackson has called on the Wigan Athletic fanbase to keep the faith after unveiling the club’s new season-ticket pricing packages.
Latics came up just short in their efforts to regain their Premier League status at the first attempt, narrowly losing 2-1 in the play-off semi-final at QPR last week.
It was the final act of a remarkable campaign that also saw Latics reach the last four of the FA Cup and compete in the Europa League.
And Jackson says Latics will need their supporters to stick with them next term if they are to go one better and win promotion back to the top flight.
“I’d like to thank the fans for supporting us through 62 games, travelling thousands of miles, spending an absolute fortune,” Jackson told the Evening Post.
“They enjoyed every last minute and, although we came up just short, we’re looking forward to more of the same next year.
“We are committed to providing excellent value for money, and I think our season ticket prices have once again reflected that.
“We feel that our pricing structure and affordability recognizes the value of their support.”
Latics have continued their commitment to provide among the best value in the Championship, with adult seats starting from £280 – the equivalent of just £12.17 per match.
The top price of £385 remains cheaper than many other clubs’ lowest figure, with an increase of just £20 on average from 2013-14.
Under-16s tickets start from just £90, Under-11s at £50 and Under 5s are free. There are also packages available for young adults, families and senior citizens.
“The season ticket holders are the foundation of our club - their support gives the players the energy to go and perform every time they play for Wigan Athletic,” recognised boss Uwe Rosler.
“They commit their time, energy and hard-earned money to support us week in, week out and I thank every one of them for their amazing support.”
Season Tickets go on sale from 9am this Wednesday, May 21, from www.WiganAthletic.com and from next week supporters will also being able to purchase by ringing 0871 6633 552 or by visiting the DW Stadium ticket office.
The ‘guarantee-your-seat’ deadline is June 30, with supporters purchasing before July 1 able to save themselves 6.5 per cent of the price.
