WIGAN Athletic will face Premier League newboys Norwich City in their inaugural game of the 2011/12 campaign.
Roberto Martinez will then return to Swansea City for the first time since leaving in 2009 before QPR visit the DW Stadium a week later as Latics come up against all three promoted sides on the bounce to start their season.
On October 1, Wigan make the journey down to Villa Park to meet up with Aston Villa who Martinez last week turned down the chance to manage.
Latics hit a tough month in December, coming up against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool at home before travelling to Old Trafford on boxing day.
They then make the trip to Stoke City, the venue of Wigan’s great escape on Survival Sunday last season, on New Years Eve before coming up against old boss Steve Bruce on January 2.
Another tough month beckons in April as Latics face Chelsea (a), Manchester United (h) and Arsenal (a) on the bounce.
However, Wigan fans will be relieved to learn that their side will be at home for the final game of the season when Wolverhampton Wanderers are the visitors on May 13.
