Boyce – who famously lifted the FA Cup at Wembley in 2013 – will again skipper the Latics legends side for the third time.

De Zeeuw will once more lead his team of Dutch Masters, hoping to avenge last year’s 2-0 defeat after a hugely-competitive clash.

The Latics Legends are looking for a third win in a row, having ruthlessly dismantled a Hollyoaks XI 10-0 in the inaugural showpiece in 2015.

Graham Barrow will be in charge of the Latics Legends, and is even hoping to be fit to have a run-out himself in the engine room.

Also confirmed to play are former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey, ex-Latics assistant boss Graeme Jones – who still holds the club record for goals in a season – Stuart Barlow, Nathan Ellington and Don Page, with more big names to be announced over the coming weeks.

Tickets for the game – which takes place on Friday, May 19 (7.30pm) - will go on sale next week from the Latics ticket office and through the club’s official website.
