MALKY Mackay has held his first training session as Wigan Athletic manager.
The new boss met his troops this morning with a media scrum also in attendance.
A number of the squad, including Leon Barnett, Don Cowie and Andrew Taylor have worked under Mackay before.
The Scot’s first game will be against Middlesbrough at the DW Stadium this Saturday with Latics languishing in the Championship relegation zone.
Mackay was unveiled as Wigan’s manager yesterday following Uwe Rosler’s sacking last week.
The appointment was met with controversy following revelations of alleged racist, homophobic, sexist and anti-semitic text messages sent by the 42-year-old back in August. He is currently under FA investigation for those texts.
