LATICS boss Roberto Martinez has finally captured his man after Spanish defender Ivan Ramis joined the club on a three-year-deal from La Liga side Real Mallorca.

Ramis links up at the DW Stadium after Wigan shelled out an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old becomes Martinez’s second signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of Fraser Fyvie in July, and could make his first appearance in a Latics shirt against his former club on Sunday when the two sides meet at the DW Stadium for a pre-season friendly match.

Ramis made 103 league appearances for Real Mallorca since making his debut in February 2004 against Albacete.

Aside from a loan spell at Real Valladolid during the 2005/06 season, Ramis has spent his entire career at Mallorca having risen through the ranks from the club’s youth system.

Last season, the central defender made 34 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga side, scoring two goals, against Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.
