JAMES McCLEAN has suffered an injury scare after reporting for international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

The 25-year-old, who has missed the last two Latics games through suspension, was expected to play a big role in Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland on Sunday.

But he was sent for a scan on his left ankle after a training-ground mishap, the results of which will leave Latics boss Malky Mackay sweating ahead of the run-in.

Elsewhere, William Kvist and Denmark have games against the USA and France, with Billy Mckay and Northern Ireland facing Scotland and Finland.

Emmerson Boyce and Barbados face a World Cup qualifier away to US Virgin Islands, with Ali Al Habsi’s Oman playing Malaysia and Algeria, and Kim Bo-Kyung’s South Korea taking on Uzbekistan and New Zealand.
