KEVIN McNaughton has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Wigan Athletic following a successful trial spell.
The 32-year-old was a free agent after leaving Championship outfit Cardiff City at the end of last term.
He’s been training with the rest of the Latics squad for the last few weeks and played in most of the friendlies as a trialist, most recently at Blackburn on Saturday.
McNaughton’s arrival bolsters the right-hand side of the defence following the summer departures of Emmerson Boyce, James Perch and James Tavernier.
His arrival takes the number of summer signings made by Gary Caldwell to 13 - with more reinforcements expected before the start of the League One season this weekend.
