WIGAN Athletic have unveiled their new strip for the 2014-15 Sky Bet Championship season.
With new sponsors Intersport emblazoned across the front, the new shirt keeps to the traditional blue and white stripes theme but with a new black collar at the top.
Players will now don black shorts, as opposed to blue in previous years, while the new socks also have blue and white stripes.
The team will wear the kit for the first time in tonight’s friendly against Besiktas at the DW Stadium.
Talking about the new sponsorship deal, Latics chief executive Jonathan Jackson said: “Intersport are a very prestigious name and we are proud to become associated with them.
“It also demonstrates Wigan Athletic can continue to attract partners of this calibre for what is our major sponsorship opportunity on the front of the team shirt, seen by millions of supporters during the course of the season. We are all looking forward to having a fruitful relationship moving forwards.”
Intersport UK general manager Tom Foley added: “Intersport stands for expert authority with a passion for all sports and supporting football at all levels. This partnership with Wigan Athletic is a great match with a traditional English club with its grass roots values, which further strengthens Intersport’s position as a leading retailer in football.”
