FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic will take centre stage in town this afternoon to show off their silverware to thousands of proud fans.

A stage area (hosted by WISH FM) - including live entertainment from 4pm - will keep crowds entertained at the top of Market Place facing Standishgate.

At around 5.15pm the open top bus will arrive at the bottom of Standishgate (near Primark) and proceed up Standishgate reaching the staged area at around 5.30pm.

The players will then exit the bus and gather on stage with the trophy for around 15 minutes with the event scheduled to finish at 6pm.

There will be changes to public bus services as Wigan Athletic players parade the FA Cup trophy through the town.

Specific details of how the bus services will be diverted can be found here

The parade will see the closure of Wallgate, King Street West, Library Street, Menses Street and Crompton Street during the hours of 3pm to 8.30pm - but car parking on council run car parks will be free from 3pm.
