DAVID Perkins believes Wigan Athletic proved once again they’re up for the fight of winning promotion from League One at the weekend.
Latics had to wait until the 95th minute to see off lowly Swindon, Francisco Junior popping up in the nick of time to seal the win.

And while they lacked the fluidity of the previous home win over Colchester – who were crushed 5-0 –Perkins says Latics proved they can win ugly as well.
“We huffed and we puffed and I think we all wondered whether the goal was coming,” he told the Evening Post.
“But we deserved to get it in the end. We should’ve been out of sight by then.
“You’re always thinking there’ll be one more chance, and it’s up to you whether you convert it.
“I thought it had maybe come and gone when Davo (Craig Davies) crossed one across the goalmouth.
“But thankfully we were able to take the next one and it proves the spirit in the camp.”
Latics extended their unbeaten home league record to eight matches.
“We know our home form’s going to be very important this year,” Perkins added. “If we can keep winning at home, we won’t go far wrong.”
