ROBERTO Martinez is hoping Manchester United starlet Angelo Henrique can follow in the footsteps of compatriot Jean Beausejour and give Latics another mid-season boost.
The Latics chief is hoping to make Henrique – a team-mate of Beausejour in the Chile national team – his second January signing after Roger Espinoza put pen to paper earlier this week.
And Martinez firmly believes the 18-year-old can make a similar impression as Beausejour, who arrived 12 months ago from Birmingham and was instrumental in Wigan’s resurgence in the second half of the campaign.
Henrique has yet to play a competitive game for United after joining them from Universidad de Chile last summer in a big-money deal.
But his record back home in Chile – and at international level through the age groups – is impressive enough to have Martinez desperate to tie-up the loan for the rest of the season.
