UWE Rosler has revealed the footballing philosophy he believes will fire Wigan Athletic back to the Premier League.
The new Latics boss was presented to the media yesterday afternoon and revealed how he:
Wants to bring passing football back to the DW Stadium.
Promote an attacking style and play a 4-3-3 formation.
Fulfil his dream of managing in the top-flight with Latics.
The 45-year-old says what he wants to achieve won’t come overnight but, with time on the training ground, success won’t be far away.
“Every manager has his own ideas and his own way of playing, I like a very high pressing game,” said Rosler.
“I like the front players to be very energetic and very willing to get the ball as soon as we lose the ball.
“I don’t want to defend deep in my own half, I want to stay high up with my defence and the midfielders have to be very committed to work hard against the ball.
“When we win the ball we have to keep it, it’s an enormous task for the players physically but also technically and we will not see that from day one.
“It will be a process each week where see each bit coming more and more.
“I’m looking for high tempo football, especially when we are winning the ball in areas where the opposition is wide open and to emphasise all these tactical things and physiological things, I need time on the training ground.”
