UWE Rosler is hoping to have two more new recruits on board by the time Wigan Athletic begin their first training camp in Germany next week.
The majority of Wigan’s playing squad will be back at Christopher Park today for fitness testing ahead of pre-season training.
After a few days on home soil, they’ll jet out to the continent for a week of tortuous toil in the German hills.
The Wigan boss has already added left-backs Andrew Taylor and Aaron Taylor-Sinclair to his playing pool since the end of last term.
And he’s waiting by the phone to hear whether a couple more bids have been successful.
“The chairman remains very supportive of what we’re doing and hopefully we will be able to present a couple of new signings before we fly out to Germany,” Rosler told the Evening Post.
“We have already signed two players, we have bids in for another two players, so the ball is rolling.
“Unfortunately it is not solely dependent on us – you also have to consider the other club, the player and also the agent.
“To get everything together under one umbrella takes time, and that is what we have been dealing with.
“We are always looking for new faces. But sometimes it happens earlier than you thought, and sometimes it can take a little longer and you have to wait.”
